Understanding Your Insurance Benefits

We’re happy to help you better understand your insurance benefits. Prior to your appointment, our team will do our best to verify your eligibility and obtain an estimate of your expected benefits and out-of-pocket costs.

We believe in transparency and want you to feel informed about your care and any costs associated with your visit. Please keep in mind that insurance plans vary widely, and many plans cover only a portion of the services provided. For the most accurate and up-to-date information about your coverage, we recommend contacting your insurance company directly.

While we will make every effort to provide an accurate estimate, insurance benefit information is provided to us by your insurance carrier and is not a guarantee of payment. Actual coverage may vary based on your individual plan, deductible, copay, coinsurance, exclusions, and remaining benefits.

Ultimately, you are responsible for any balance not covered by your insurance plan. We will always do our best to communicate anticipated costs with you in advance and help answer any questions along the way.

Our goal is simple: no surprises whenever possible.

Appointments

Our Appointment & Cancellation Policy

At Kingston Eye, we know that life happens—and we understand that plans sometimes need to change. At the same time, our appointment times are reserved specifically for you. Because we have a high demand for appointments and limited availability, providing adequate notice allows us to offer that time to another patient who may be waiting for care.

We kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Appointment Reminders & Confirmation

To make things easy, Kingston Eye sends appointment reminders by text in advance of your visit, including reminders several weeks and several days before your appointment.

If we do not receive confirmation of your appointment, we may release the appointment time to another patient. If your appointment is removed, we will notify you so you have the opportunity to reschedule.

Late Cancellation & Rescheduling Fee

A $50 fee will apply when an appointment is cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or in the event of a no-show.

One-Time Courtesy

We understand that unexpected situations arise. As a courtesy, the first late cancellation or no-show fee will be waived one time.

Unexpected Emergencies

We recognize that true emergencies can happen. In these situations, we are happy to review the circumstances and may waive the fee on a case-by-case basis.

Repeated Cancellations & No-Shows

We want to make sure appointment availability remains fair to all of our patients. Patients who have two or more late cancellations or no-shows within a 12-month period may be asked to provide a small, non-refundable deposit when scheduling future appointments.

Community Consideration

Thank you for helping us care for our community. We truly appreciate your understanding and consideration. By giving us as much notice as possible when plans change, you help us open that appointment to another patient who needs care.

Thank you for choosing Kingston Eye and for being a valued part of our community.
