Had you told Sarah a few years ago that she would be opening her own eye care practice, she likely would have laughed—and then asked where to sign.
For Sarah, Kingston Eye is more than a business—it’s the realization of a dream, uniting her love of people, passion for eyecare, and the family she found along the way.
In seven years in eyecare, Sarah fell in love with the people, the relationships, and the impact great care can have. After her own health challenges, she met a doctor who transformed her life—showing her the power of true compassion and inspiring her to create a place where patients receive that same level of care.
Born in New Jersey, Sarah moved to Boston six years ago and met Mary and Kathryn, who soon became family. Kingston Eye grew from their shared vision, hard work, and belief that the right people make any dream possible.
Sarah holds degrees from James Madison University and an MBA from Rutgers University. She brings business expertise and eyecare experience to Kingston Eye, aiming to build a practice that feels different from the moment you walk in.
Outside Kingston Eye, Sarah enjoys running, traveling, spending time with loved ones, and being “Aunt Sarah” to her nieces and nephews. She is a lover of shoes, the New York Yankees, a good glass of rosé, and making memories with her favorite people.
Sarah always dreamed of building her own business—more importantly, of creating a place where people feel at home and know they’re receiving exceptional care.
She is deeply grateful to her parents for their encouragement and belief, which gave her the confidence to dream big in life and make Kingston Eye possible.
Mary Keenan
Managing Director
With decades of experience in the optical industry and a passion for caring for her community, Mary brings a wealth of knowledge to Kingston Eye. As a licensed optician and former owner of multiple practices throughout central Massachusetts and Boston, she has spent her career building practices centered around exceptional service, trusted relationships, and truly personalized care.
Kingston Eye represents Mary’s last voyage—a practice built from years of experience, a love for the optical profession, and a deep desire to serve the South Shore. She is excited to bring everything she has learned along the way to Kingston and to create a place where patients feel known, cared for, and genuinely welcome.
For Mary, Kingston Eye isn’t just the next chapter—it’s the culmination of a lifelong passion for people, eye care, and her community.
Kathryn Thompson
Director of Operations
Marcy brings 40 years of optical industry experience to her role as Operations Director at Kingston Eye. With degrees in both Business and Psychology, she has a knack for keeping things running smoothly, solving problems before they become problems, and making sure both patients and staff feel genuinely cared for.
Marcy believes the little things matter—from exceptional quality and service to creating a warm, welcoming experience from the moment you walk through the door. Her experience, attention to detail, and people-first approach make her an invaluable part of the Kingston Eye team.
Outside of Kingston Eye, Marcy is happiest spending time with her grandkids, getting lost in a good book, tackling a challenging puzzle, or diving into her latest craft project. Whether she’s creating, organizing, reading, or enjoying time with family, Marcy is always keeping busy—and usually having fun while doing it!
Marcy Beamer
Lead Optician, Co-Owner, and Managing Partner
You could say optical is in Kathryn’s DNA. Raised by an optician, she grew up around frames, lenses, and plenty of opinions about a good pair of glasses.
She studied opticianry at Franklin Cummings Tech in Boston and loved it so much she stuck around—spending the next ten years teaching future opticians. Since then, she’s worked in just about every corner of the optical world, always with the dream of one day creating a shop of her own.
Six years ago, Kathryn traded city life for Plymouth, where she and her husband are raising their family close to the people and places they love.
Kingston Eye brings it all together: years of experience, a love for beautiful eyewear, exceptional service, and the belief that getting new glasses should actually be fun.
When she’s not talking frames, you can usually find Kathryn with her family, near the ocean!
